Wooden nest box for canaries, with a round opening in the bottom into which the nest drops.
This nest box is made of plywood and open across the full width at the front, with a raised lip along the bottom. There is a large round opening in the base: the nest drops into it, so that the rim of the nest sits level with the floor of the box.
The nest therefore sits firmly and cannot slide or tip when the pair steps in and out. Our Nest just A orange and our Nestpan E fit into the opening.
There is a hole in the back panel with which you hang the box over a hook or a nail — in the cage, against the aviary wall or on a bracket of your own. Thanks to the open front you can see the nest without having to open a door, which keeps things calm during brooding.
