Our Past
Since 1975
In 1971, Jozef Ost started making exhibition cages as a hobbyist. Others soon noticed his craftsmanship, creating demand for his cages. In 1975, his wife, Marie Jose Breugelmans, joined the making of fronts, which turned out to be a great success. They decided to start a company together called Ost Belgium. The company grew steadily and started producing birdhouses and wooden nests in 1979. In 1992, Ost Belgium was transformed into a public limited company, with his son, Paul Ost, joining the board. In the 2000s, Ost Belgium started producing plastic products, marking a new phase in the company's evolution. To date, we specialize in fronts, wooden nesting boxes and injection molded products.

Our future
Creating happiness for our avian friends
With the addition of Gert Ost to the board at the end of 2023, the future of the Ost family is full of enthusiasm and promise. His energy and vision promise a dynamic boost for the family's businesses, where experience and innovation come together harmoniously. In the future, we will launch new products and refurbish old products, introduce a new webshop and focus more on international expansion. The Ost family legacy will live on and thrive, driven by a continued commitment to excellence and progress.
Our location
Made in Belgium
We are proud to produce all our plastic products, wooden nesting boxes, cages, fronts and many other items entirely in Belgium. Even more, as many as 95% of our products are manufactured here, and we continually strive for an even greater degree of autonomy in our production processes. We currently manage 98% of our activities in-house, which gives us maximum control over the quality, timing and efficiency of our production process. Our ultimate goal is to manage 100% of our operations internally, as we believe this will enable us to realize our vision of unparalleled quality and service, and to provide our customers with products that meet the highest standards of workmanship and reliability.
