Cookie policy

This cookie policy explains what cookies are, which cookies we use on our website, for what purpose, and how you can change your preferences at any time. Read this policy together with our privacy statement, in which we explain how we process personal data.

Who are we?

The party responsible for this website and for the processing of data via cookies is:

OST Belgium NV Achterstenoek 38, 2275 Lille, Belgium Company number / VAT: BE 0447.036.475 Email: info@ostbelgium.be Telephone: +32 (0)14 88 34 34

If you have questions about this cookie policy or about the processing of your data, please contact us using the details above.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are sent to your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit our website and are stored there by your browser. On a next visit they are sent back to our servers. Cookies make sure the website works properly, remember your preferences and help us improve the website.

Without cookies, using a website would be a good deal more cumbersome: you would, for instance, have to log in again on every page or fill your shopping basket all over again. Besides cookies, similar techniques may also be used (such as pixels or local storage); where we write "cookies", we mean those techniques as well.

What do we use cookies for?

We use cookies to:

  • make the website function correctly and securely;
  • remember your preferences, such as your language and region;
  • keep the contents of your shopping basket and your login session;
  • understand how visitors use our website, so that we can improve it;
  • (with your consent) make our advertisements more relevant and measure their performance.

Which cookies do we use?

We divide cookies into essential cookies (always active, because they are necessary for the site to work) and optional cookies (only placed after you have given your consent).

Essential — Session & security

Verifying users, protecting user data and making sure the website can deliver the expected services, such as keeping track of your shopping basket. If you refuse or delete these cookies, the website will not work correctly.

  • session_id (Odoo)
Essential — Preferences

Remembering information about the desired behaviour and appearance of the website, such as your preferred language or region. If you delete these cookies, your experience may be less smooth, but the website will keep working.

  • frontend_lang (Odoo)
Optional — Interaction history

Collecting information about your interactions with the website, the pages viewed and the marketing campaign that brought you to the site. If you refuse these cookies, the website will keep working.

  • im_livechat_previous_operator_pid (Odoo)
  • utm_campaign (Odoo)
  • utm_source (Odoo)
  • utm_medium (Odoo)
Optional — Advertising & marketing

Making our advertisements more relevant and improving reporting on advertising campaigns, also on other websites you visit. External services may place their own cookies for this. If you refuse these cookies, the website will keep working.

  • __gads (Google)
  • __gac (Google)
Optional — Analytics

Understanding how visitors use our website, via Google Analytics. If you refuse or delete these cookies, the website will keep working.

  • _ga (Google)
  • _gat (Google)
  • _gid (Google)
  • _gac_* (Google)

Your consent and how you manage it

On your first visit we show a cookie banner. Essential cookies are always placed, because the website does not work without them. Optional cookies (interaction, marketing, analytics) are only placed after you have given your consent.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the settings in the cookie banner or via the link at the bottom of our website. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing that took place before the withdrawal.

Managing cookies via your browser

Besides our cookie banner, you can also manage or delete cookies via your browser settings. You can set your browser to warn you when a cookie is placed, or to refuse all cookies. Every browser works slightly differently; consult your browser's help menu. Usually you will find these options under "Settings → Privacy".

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari

Please note that disabling essential cookies means that parts of our website will no longer work properly.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are placed by external parties, for example Google (for analytics and advertising). These parties may process the data collected via cookies according to their own policies. You can partly disable the use of cookies by external advertisers via the opt-out page of the Network Advertising Initiative. For more information we refer to the privacy policies of the parties concerned.

Do Not Track

We currently do not support "Do Not Track" signals, because there is as yet no generally accepted industry standard for complying with them.

Your rights

On the basis of the cookies you allow, we may process personal data. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have, among other things, the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability of your data, and the right to object or to withdraw your consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be).

How we process your data and how you exercise these rights is set out in our privacy statement.

Changes to this cookie policy

We may adjust this cookie policy from time to time, for example when we use new cookies or when legislation changes. You will always find the most recent version on this page. We recommend consulting this policy regularly.
