More about us

Product description

Shredded beech wood as bedding, in four grain sizes.

Broken woodpieces are beech wood, shredded into small pieces and intended as bedding in cages and aviaries. You spread a layer on the floor: it catches what the bird drops and keeps the floor dry.

Beech absorbs moisture well. Droppings and spilled drinking water soak into the shreds instead of standing on the floor. The cage therefore stays fresh longer and cleaning out is quicker: you scoop out the layer and spread a new one.

There are four grain sizes: 3, 6, 8 and 10 mm. The finer shreds are meant for smaller cages and smaller birds, the coarser ones for large cages and aviaries. Every size is supplied in 15 kg bags, per bag or per full pallet.

Benefits

Why breeders and shops choose this bedding.

Absorbs moisture

Beech soaks up droppings and spilled water instead of letting it stand. That keeps the floor drier and the cage fresh for longer.

Cleaning out is quicker

You scoop the dirty layer out in one movement and spread a new one. No scraping, no soaking.

Four grain sizes

From 3 mm for small cages to 10 mm for large cages and aviaries. Your customer chooses to suit his cage and his birds, you work with one item.

Sells all year round

Bedding is a consumable: whoever uses it once comes back. That makes it a steady line of turnover alongside the cages and the accessories.

Per bag or per pallet

Shops buy per 15 kg bag, larger customers per full pallet. The pallet has its own barcode for your scanning process.

Frequently asked questions

What customers ask us most often about this item.

What is this used for?

As bedding in cages and aviaries. You spread a layer on the floor, which catches the dirt and absorbs the moisture.

Which grain size do I choose?

The finer sizes (3 and 6 mm) are meant for smaller cages and smaller birds, the coarser ones (8 and 10 mm) for large cages and aviaries.

Why beech wood?

Beech absorbs moisture well. That keeps the floor drier and the layer has to be replaced less often.

How is it delivered?

In 15 kg bags. You order per bag or per full pallet; the pallet has its own barcode so you can scan it in one go.

Is this the same product in all sizes?

Yes. It is the same beech wood each time, only shredded finer or coarser. Every size does have its own item number and barcode.
