Elongated lovebird nest box to slide into the left-hand corner of the cage, with a partition and a lid on top.
This nest box slides into the top left-hand corner of the cage. It is made for the left corner: on the right-hand side the entrance hole and the inspection holes do not line up. It fits our Breeding cage with nest in 50, 60 and 80 cm, and breeding cages with a front with an open corner.
Inside there is a partition. The bird flies in through the entrance hole and does not reach the nest straight away: it first has to get behind the partition. The clutch and the young therefore lie out of sight and it stays quiet in the nest, even when there is movement in the cage.
On the outside there is a knob. With it you pull the box part of the way out of the cage: it then sits half inside and half outside. On top there is a lid over the half with the nest — you open that and reach the nest straight away, without opening the cage or disturbing the pair. Close the lid, slide the box back in and you are done.
In the front there is the entrance hole in one half and two inspection holes in the other half, on the side of the nest. On the other side there are two further holes: you can use them to hang the box or as extra ventilation. A round nest hollow is worked into the base, on the side of the inspection holes.
